The EDC is committed to retaining and expanding its defense related industries, excelling them in the competitive marketplace, and maintaining a technologically skilled workforce to support continual growth. The EDC established TeCMEN in 1988 and continues to sponsor TeCMEN as part of its commitment to the success of these efforts and to a prospering Okaloosa County. Mission Statement EDC member companies formulate the Technology Coast Manufacturing and Engineering Network to promote the economic and technological growth within Okaloosa's defense community through the association, collaboration, and contract-teaming of its manufacturing and engineering-based companies. TeCMEN's Objective To allow its EDC technology, manufacturing and engineering related member companies to gain access to larger defense projects by partnering and teaming. Using a collaborative concept these companies team together as one to complete defense contracting requirements that are too expansive for a single business to undertake. |

There are many benefits of being an EDC member. EDC membership provides local and worldwide recognition on the EDC Internet site listings and in EDC publications. EDC members are eligible to advertise their company and product and/or service on the EDC website banners. There are also many opportunities to participate on Council committees and in networking activities and special events, such as: o Access to regional business leaders and information o Roundtable symposiums o Annual Officers' Reception o Industry Trade Shows o VIP briefings o Local industry tours o Networking events o Technology Coast Manufacturing & Engineering Network (TeCMEN) Many not-for-profit organizations in Okaloosa County support the EDC with annual financial commitments because they recognize the importance of our efforts to foster industrial wealth.
